Water is Life! International trade agreements and the threat to water as a public commons.
The Guelph Chapter of the Council of Canadians invites you to attend a public forum on Wednesday, October 18. “Water is Life: International Trade Agreements and the Threat to Water as a Public Commons” will explore the threats trade deals pose to water, making it more vulnerable to bulk exports, massive extractions and pollution.
Join Maude Barlow, Honorary Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, and Dr. Gus Van Harten, an expert on international trade deals from Osgoode Hall Law School, to learn more about these threats and how we, as citizens, can push our government to change how we do trade so we can protect water for future generations.
When: Wednesday, October 18 at 7 p.m.
Where: The Italian Canadian Club, 135 Ferguson St., Guelph
Admission is free – don’t forget to bring a friend.
We hope to see you there!
